Christian Weimar is a
consultant Neurologist and professor of Neurology at the University Hospital
Essen, Germany. He received his MD Degree in 1995 at the University of
Freiburg, Germany. After his Neurology training, he became an Associate
Professor of Neurology at the University of Essen in 2004 and has been the
attending consultant there since 2006. He is the initiator and coordinator of
the Center for Neurological Studies which comprises over 30 German academic and
tertiary stroke care centers to conduct observational, prognostic studies in
stroke patients. Over 35 peer reviewed papers have resulted from this
collaboration. He currently is the prinicipal investigator or national
coordinator of several investigator-initiated multicenter randomized controlled
trials on stroke prevention and acute stroke treatment. Other research
interests include mild cognitive impairment and dementia. |
