Deramecourt, Vincent

Vincent Deramecourt is a Senior Neurologist at the Lille University Hospital Memory Clinic, National Reference Centre for Young onset Alzheimer’s Disease and related disorders; Associate Professor of Histology at the Lille 2 University Medical School.

Dr. Vincent Deramecourt graduated from the University of Lille School of medicine in France in 2005 and completed his specialisation in Neurology between 2000 and 2005.

In 2009, he earned his PhD from the Lille-Nord de France University  with a final thesis entitled “Impact of clinicopathological approaches on the comprehension and clinical management of dementia”. He also graduated in neuropathology in 2008 and contributes to the neruopathological examination of post mortem brains obtained from patients who were longitudinally followed up at the Lille University Hospital Memory Clinic. During his post doc period in 2010-2011, he worked as a research fellow  at the Institute for Ageing and Health (Newcastle University, UK), in the neurovascular team headed by Prof. Raj N. Kalaria. He recently obtained his habilitation in October 2013.

He has authored or co-authored  more than 50 published papers and has acted as a reviewer for  peer reviewed journals including: Brain, Journal of Alzheimer’s disease or Neurology. His scientific interests include the clinicopathological correlations in the frontotemporal lobar degeneration spectrum, and the impact of cerebrovascular lesions on cognition. These research topics are currently developed in the Laboratory of Excellence DISTALZ (Development of Innovative Strategies for a Transdisciplinary Approach to Alzheimer's Disease).
